When I rescued Noah, I had no plans to keep him. He belonged to someone who had unexpectedly passed away, and because there was no plan in place for his care, Noah was left alone for over 24 hours before anyone realized he was there. As soon as I learned what had happened, I went to get him and brought him home to safety.
Once Noah was with me, I quickly noticed he was having trouble breathing and sleeping. It was heartbreaking to see him so uncomfortable and struggling just to rest. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to do everything I could to help him have a normal, comfortable life.
At first, I thought I might need to find him another home, especially one that might be able to manage the cost of the surgery he needs. But the more time Noah has spent with me, the more he has completely melted my heart. He has shown me so much love and affection. He has all the traits of a Westie, but his personality has really blossomed here in my home with love, safety, and attention. He is sweet, loving, and a little bossy too — which makes me laugh. He sleeps on my stomach with his head tucked into my chest, and he is with me almost all the time.
I work from home, so we spend every day together, and he has become such a big part of my life. What started as a rescue without expectations has turned into a very deep bond. If I am able to get Noah the surgery he needs, I will be the happiest man alive. I would love nothing more than to keep him, give him the care he deserves, and continue surrounding him with love and the best life I can provide.
Noah has already been through so much, and all I want is to give him the chance to breathe easier, sleep comfortably, and live the happy, healthy life he deserves.
I wanted to say how overwhelmed I am with gratitude. I did not know how I was going to be able to do this and to see any animal with a condition not living their best life is just absolutely heart wrenching. I am so thankful to everyone at WestieMed for the opportunity to change Noah’s life.
Best,
David & Noah
