Lexi is a sweet mess of a girl. Her owners had to give her up because they couldn’t keep up with her medical needs and they worked every day and she was left alone 8:30 to 5.
Our volunteer, Matthew Stuckey, picked her up in November and has been working all this time taking her to the vet to get her diabetes and Cushing’s numbers regulated. Finally, they are and that means she is ready for the next step – a dental cleaning. Once that is done, she will be ready for her Cataract Surgery. We also seem to have her skin conditions under control.
She absolutely loves people and loves to snuggle but does get cranky with other dogs at times still, mostly because she can’t see them coming and gets surprised. On the other side hand, she and the foster’s two-year-old Westie will play and chase each other around when she wants to.
Lexi knows all her commands! Sit, stay, come and listens 95% of the time! She is pretty good about going potty outside but on occasion if left unattended for a while will still have accidents in the house but knows if she does that she uses a dog pad.We want to give Lexi the best quality of life possible and that will come with cataract surgery. Thank you to WestieMed for helping us with this!
